Russian Daredevils Climb to Top of Moscow State University, Give us Amazing Photos, Hang Out

Moscow State University is home to one of Moscow's "Seven Sisters", which are seven skyscrapers built in Stalinist style in the wake of World War II. The Moscow State University tower was completed in 1953, stands 787 feet tall, and is topped with the iconic red star of the era. Recently, a couple of guys found a way up (illegally) to the very top of the spire and have given us some astounding photographs of the view from there. Food Fridays: Food from the Monastery in Moscow

What could be better than food prepared by the nuns and monks of an orthodox church? I've already mentioned that the churches in Russia are quite amazing, but if you keep an eye out you can find little cafes attached to the churches and monasteries that sell some of the freshest homemade food you can get. Near Red Square,there's the zaikonospassky monastery where you can buy little piroshkis and little sweets just outside the main building, but the one that took the cake for me was the little cafe right by the Church of Saint George. Here's the simple treats....

McDonald's Around the World: Russia!

While in Russia, I had to take the opportunity to stop by the McDonald's located a block from Red Square and about 500 feet from their Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. It's slightly ironic that this McDonald's is within sight of where the line for Lenin's Mausoleum forms.
